Hi, I’m Natalie!
My intention is to help you feel more connected, aligned, and invigorated, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually so that you have the bandwidth to live a life full of joy.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in (and fascinated by) the human condition, how we choose to live our lives, and how we exist inside of our own skin. Interestingly, my interest was piqued by the writings of Romantic poets like Blake, Wordsworth, Shelley, and Byron who were passionate about living life fully.
I graduated from Cornell College in 1990 with a B.A. in English and one credit shy of a second major in Sociology. I began my professional career as an editorial trainee, writing feature articles for a national magazine. After a year of writing stories about inspiring people, places, and events, I decided that a life of working in a cubicle, writing about people doing important things to make the lives of those around them better was not for me. I embarked on my second career…social worker. I spent my next seven years working as an afterschool program coordinator for a non-profit organization. It was during these years that I was introduced to massage therapy.
I began to receive massage to offset stress from my job. Before long, massage became a budget line item for me. I became hooked when I experienced the positive physical effects. I also began to sense emotional improvements. After a few years, I changed careers for a third time to become a massage therapist.
I graduated from the renowned Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 1998 with a diploma and 1000 hours of training. I recognized a strong connection between the mind and the body. I set out to learn more so I pursued advanced training in specialized massage modalities, herbal healing, aromatherapy, medical intuition, Transformational Breath ®, Soul Motion Conscious Movement, and coaching. I have also done (and continue to do) extensive inner work over the years which has helped me to support my clients more effectively.
I read, write, cook, enjoy nature, dance, and share time with my friends in my spare time.
My Why
I offer Maya abdominal massage
because few women are truly informed about why their menstrual cycles can be so painful, why they may struggle getting pregnant, why they have difficulty recovering from their pregnancies, and why their menopause symptoms can be so challenging.
They are also rarely told what they can do about their issues that don’t include drugs, devices, or surgery. I want to bridge the gap between women and Western healthcare that often keeps us uninformed about our true reproductive wellness.
We suffer unnecessarily from issues related our cycles that can be easily addressed without the need for sometimes invasive protocols that doctors prescribe. I suffered unnecessarily for many years until I started supporting my own health and seeing amazing results.
I want better for the women I serve; I want to teach you how to understand what’s happening in your body so you can be your own best advocate. The same is true for those who are experiencing digestive or back issues. If you can understand what is creating your digestive or back distress, the easier it can be for you address it.
I offer body-centered shadow coaching
because I believe that our emotional wellbeing can impact our physical wellbeing. I want to help people to honor the emotions they ignore or try to bury.
When they acknowledge their feelings, they can heal faster physically or avoid physical distress altogether. We spend decades in school to learn how to have a job. We spend money and time learning how to drive a car. We even take time to learn how to do extracurricular activities.
Interestingly, we spend very little time understanding what makes us tick, how to honor our needs, or how to cultivate relationships that support our growth. I want to do my part to help create a society that is loving, tolerant, and accepting of everyone. And doing so starts with me.
I offer conscious movement
because I believe that when we get comfortable dancing to the beat of our own drummer on the dance floor…dancing in our glory and through our discomfort and fear…the more comfortable we will be taking our dance out into our everyday lives.
